Dutch Baby

  • Butter (3 tbsp)

  • Eggs (3)

  • Milk (1/2 cup)

  • Vanilla extract (1/4 tsp)

  • Ground cinnamon (1/4 tsp)

  • Salt (1/4 tsp)

  • Flour (1/2 cup)

  • Lemon juice

  • Powdered sugar


  1. Place an empty cast iron skillet into oven and preheat to 450 °F.

  2. Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl.

  3. In a medium size bowl, whisk eggs until light. Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and flour and combine with electric mixer or whisk until it looks like pancake batter.

  4. Take skillet out of oven and pour in batter, being cautious not to touch handle with bare hands. Bake for 15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown on top.

  5. Remove from oven. Splash about a teaspoon's worth of lemon juice onto surface and sift on a desired amount of powdered sugar. Serve in pie-like slices.
