Mint Water

The mint leaf is said to resonate the dying cry of a water nymph who'd been stomped into a pile of herbs by the mother of a girl that was kidnapped by a god of death for sleeping with her.

  • Water (8 cups, divided)

  • Fresh mint leaves (1/2 cup, divided)

  • Lemon, sliced into discs (one whole lemon)


  1. Bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add 1/4 cup mint and lower heat to simmer. Stir constantly for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and pour through strainer into a container. Either cool in fridge overnight or add a few ice cubes to the container.

  2. In a pitcher with plenty of ice, mix together 6 cups water and the mint-infused water. Add the other 1/4 cup mint and the lemon slices. Serve with heaps of cup-top decor.
