Butter (1 stick or 8 tbsp)
Peaches in juice (two 15-oz cans)
Granulated sugar (1 cup)
Flour (3/4 cup)
Baking powder (2 tsp)
Salt (1/2 tsp)
Cinnamon (1 tsp)
Nutmeg (1 tsp)
Milk (3/4 cup)
Place butter in an 8x8-inch baking dish and put in oven while preheating to 350 °F. Take out when melted.
Drain juice from peach cans, but keep juice in a cup or bowl for use later.
In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and milk.
Pour batter into the baking dish, followed by the peaches and about a cup of peach juice. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Take out, cool, and serve with vanilla ice cream.
