Perfect Baked Potatoes

  • Russet potatoes (as many as you want)

  • Olive oil (2 tsp)

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Butter (1/2 tbsp per potato)

  • Sour cream (1 tbsp per potato)

  • Cheddar cheese (a large pinch per potato)

  • Bacon bits (1 tsp per potato)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F.

  2. For each potato you plan on baking, set out one 10x10-inch sheet of tinfoil. With a brush or the back of a spoon, paint each sheet with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  3. Poke each potato with about a dozen fork holes, then wrap with a sheet of oiled foil and place on a baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 50-60 minutes.

  5. Take out and unwrap. Cut thin wedges lengthwise in each potato and insert butter. Let cool for about 2 minutes, then fill with sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits. Serve.
